USEFUL PETS MOD

The Useful Pets Mod has used to be named Battle Pets. But we do not care about the history here, I'm supposed to teach you how to use the mod - so let's get on with that.
The Useful Pets Mod is a rather-simple mod to understand. It does not add many items, but it adds a cool feature to the game that makes pets actually useful!.
When you spawn in your world, you will receive a Pet Wand. Don't throw it away because these are not too easy to craft. You need these to upgrade your pets to a Useful Pet.

If you tame a wolf or ocelot, then punch them with a pet wand (it won't hurt them, trust me) then you will turn them into a useful pet. If they were named with a name tag, then you will have to name them again.

However, if you want to tame a hostile mob, or a Pig or other creatures that are not tamable in Vanilla minecraft, you must splash them with a potion of weakness, and then punch them with the pet wand to convert them.

Once you tame a pet, you will notice two health bars. The red one represents their health, the green one their hunger. You must feed them every now and then if they fight or something like that. Left click a converted pet while holding the Pet Wand to attempt a level up.

Right click the pet while sneaking to open the inventory/skill tree.
Right click the pet with any other item to make them sit/stand.
Right click otherwise with the Mountable skill and a saddle in the saddle slot to mount the pet.

Dogs can eat beef and pork.
Cats can eat chicken and fish.
Pigs can eat carrots.

Slimes and silverfish can eat cookies and raw potatos. The Pet Wand is crafted with a torch made of bones and gold nuggets. You get one when you log into a world for the first time though (configurable). Pet claws are found as dungeon loot, just like saddles. However, in the config file you can enable a recipe for them, and for saddles.

By right clicking any pet, they will sit. I personally like the way the pig sits. :D

Also, you can only tame Silverfish and Slimes out of the hostile mobs.

Leveling up your pets requires certain items. The items required will be specified in chat, or taken away from your inventory if you have them.

             Enjoy!
